THE CLUBHOUSE ARCHITECT

JOEL NEWMAN

Joel Newman, Partner at Thomas and Denzinger Architects of Charleston, SC, will design Kawonu Golf Club’s clubhouse, all lodging, the training center, and golf course comfort stations. Joel brings an amazing career in architecture to Kawonu.

Virtually his entire portfolio includes luxury residences and hospitality amenities, primarily in the Southeast. Notably, Joel did all club facilities at Chechessee Creek Club and Spring Island Club, both in Okatie, SC, and at Ohoopee Match Club in Tattnall County, GA. He also did extensive work at Kiawah Island and Palmetto Bluff.

For Kawonu, Joel has a wonderful vision for special spaces that will appeal to golfers both before and after a round of golf. Joel will bring a common design theme to all facilities, with each complementing the overall look and feel of the club.
